How do we overcome resistance from the team to the time commitment needed for team development work? +

The success of the leadership team is crucial to individual success and is some of the most important work leaders can do to meet the organization’s objectives.

  • The team interviews and individual assessments conducted upfront provide the team members with the opportunity and the data to take a step back and evaluate team and individual performance. Presenting this data at the start of the process lays the groundwork for understanding the need for team development and each member’s role in it.
  • Team sessions are a space for the executive team to do work that moves the needle, together. We address conflicts and issues in real time and remove obstacles so that every member can do their best work, day in and day out.
  • Finally, the individualized coaching each leader receives helps them maximize their strengths and minimize their blind spots. It will support them for years to come.
How often will we have to meet for Team Sessions? +

Team sessions are usually scheduled monthly or quarterly, depending on need and budget.

Do the Team Sessions need to be in person, or can they be done virtually? +

The goal of the leadership team alignment coaching is to bring a group of independent, powerful individuals together so they can move faster and more efficiently towards achieving the company’s priorities.

There are great benefits to in-person sessions:

  • They are more effective in breaking down communication barriers and expediting the building of trust and open honest dialogue within the team. This is crucial to optimal team performance.
  • They allow for team members to be more fully present and spend time together getting to know one another at a personal level. This also builds trust and understanding.
  • Your leaders come to see that working on executive team collaboration is an essential part of their job that pays off in dividends, for everyone.

Once the foundation of trust has been built, follow-up team sessions can be done virtually. However, we find that meeting in-person is always more effective.

We have 360 assessment tools that we already use with our leaders. Can you utilize these instead of having leaders take another assessment tool? +

Yes! We are accredited in many leadership assessment tools and skilled at interpreting in-house and bespoke assessment tools. As long as the data is recent (within the last 6 months) and provides relevant insights to team effectiveness, we can work with it.

How do you manage interpersonal conflict and resistance to collaboration that may be disruptive to team sessions? +

This is where we excel.

Our facilitation style creates the safety but also the reality of the absolute need for vulnerability, honest dialogue, and hard conversations. The interviews and time spent upfront with each one of your leaders help prepare the way for managing resistance and interpersonal tensions.

Conflict is not bad. Once allowed to be constructive, it is a healthy and necessary component of a high-performing teams. Building the trust and self-awareness to enable constructive conflict is our superpower!

How do you ensure engagement by all team members in the process? +

The time we spend upfront with each leader during the Team Dynamics Diagnosis phase helps them embrace the process as they are providing input. It creates engaged participants.

Is individual coaching necessary as part of the roadmap to success? +

The individual coaching of each leader enhances the work done in team sessions and can accelerate the level of awareness and team collaboration the executive team needs to perform at their best.

The coaching also provides the team members with an important opportunity for their own professional development as leaders. It creates a positive ripple effect felt by every employee, the organization as a whole and, ultimately, your clients/customers as well.
